Makoto Ijuin
Founder, ECOLOGICA Australia
Led by founder Makoto Ijuin, whose renewable energy experience dates back to 2010, ECOLOGICA Australia draws on practical experience across solar energy, battery storage, hybrid renewable energy projects, carbon management and cross-border business development.
Born in Japan and having moved to Australia at the age of 10, Makoto brings a deep personal and professional understanding of both markets. His international experience includes renewable energy project work across Southeast Asia and Mongolia, together with broader business development in Europe and the Americas.
Following his participation in COP24 and COP25, Makoto led the Japanese ECOLOGICA business’s carbon-neutrality programme. In 2020, the business achieved operational carbon neutrality and participated in the UNFCCC Climate Neutral Now initiative.
CLIMATE & KNOWLEDGE SHARING
Makoto also founded NET ZERO NOW, a Japanese-language platform created to make international sustainability developments and practical solutions more accessible in Japan.
ECOLOGICA Australia understands not only the renewable energy opportunity itself, but also how information is communicated, evaluated and acted upon in both markets.
